Tacos, Burritos, Nachos (Tex-Mex) ๐ฎ๐ฏ
Strong influence from Mexico, now a favorite all across the United States and beyond.
1. Tacos
Description: A tortilla folded and filled with seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, salsa, and cheese.
- Spices: Chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder.
- Cooking Time: 20–25 minutes.
- Serving Size: 2–3 tacos per person.
Recipe:
- Sautรฉ ground beef or chicken with taco seasoning (chili powder, cumin, paprika).
- Warm corn or flour tortillas.
- Fill with meat, lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, and salsa.
- Top with guacamole or sour cream.
2. Burritos
Description: A large flour tortilla wrapped around rice, beans, meat, cheese, and sauces.
- Spices: Cumin, oregano, garlic, onion powder.
- Cooking Time: 30–35 minutes.
- Serving Size: 1 burrito per person.
Recipe:
- Cook rice and black beans separately.
- Sautรฉ beef or chicken with cumin, garlic, and onion.
- Place rice, beans, meat, cheese, and salsa in a large tortilla.
- Roll tightly and toast lightly on a skillet for a crispy outside.
3. Nachos
Description: Crispy tortilla chips topped with melted cheese, beans, salsa, jalapeรฑos, and meat (optional).
- Spices: Chili flakes, cumin, cayenne pepper.
- Cooking Time: 10–15 minutes.
- Serving Size: For sharing, 1 plate serves 2–3 people.
Recipe:
- Spread tortilla chips on a baking tray.
- Layer with shredded cheese, cooked beans, jalapeรฑos, and seasoned ground beef.
